Humbold  #1 is inspired by the juxtaposition of the humbleness and boldness it takes to follow Jesus. Humbleness because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble, and boldness because in order to love His people you have to be willing to have courage to be uncomfortable to meet someone where they are... which is often outside our little comfort zones. 

The word Humbold (yes made up by yours truly;) reminds me to keep them both in mind as I'm here on this earth trying my hardest to follow Jesus in this broken and hurting world. 
 
In the creation of this piece, a mixture of colorful yet slightly muted colors were used in the background to symbolize humbleness and humility and a bold black design was used for the foreground in semblance of boldness..
