This is the second of the Humbold paintings.
Humbold #2 is inspired by the juxtaposition of the humbleness and boldness it takes to follow Jesus. I've learned that in order to be a follower of Jesus it takes both humbleness and boldness; humbleness because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble and boldness because in order to love His people you have to be willing to have courage to be uncomfortable to meet someone where they are which is often outside our little comfort zones. The word humbold (yes made up by yours truly;) reminds me to keep them both in mind as I'm here on this earth trying my hardest to follow Jesus in this broken hurting world.
