Lava Essential Oil Room Spray

Updated: Feb 17

I love this room spray! It doesn't take much time at all and it smells wonderful! It has bursts of citrus from grapefruit and blood orange but has a delicious mellow undertone with sandalwood and ho wood. It's so yummy, you have to try it for yourself!

Lava Essential Oils Room Spray Recipe:

Ingredients

  • 2-ounce amber glass spray bottle

  • 1 tbsp vegetable glycerin

  • 1 oz. witch hazel

  • 1 oz distilled water

  • 20-25 drops Lava essential oil blend (or less if it's too potent for your liking)

  • Thin stir stick (not plastic!)

Directions & Tips for Use:

  1. Pour the glycerin in your glass bottle then add the essential oils. Take a thin stir stick like a wooden coffee stir stick or something similar and stir the oils into the glycerin. This helps disperse the oils better later. Let this mix sit for a few minutes.

  2. Pour the witch hazel into the bottle, close the lid on the bottle tightly, then shake, shake shake!

  3. Next, add the distilled water, replace the lid again and shake! Don't overfill the bottle. If it is getting too close to the top, leave some of the water out. Only fill water up to the point it doesn't spill once adding the cap.

To use, simply shake and spray! Don't spray on a human, animal or anything like that, as these oils are very concentrated and could cause a reaction. Remember to give the bottle a quick shake before each use to disperse the oils.

Notes & Tips:

Witch hazel helps the oil and water combine and helps the aroma stick around a bit longer. You can also opt to use vodka instead of the witch hazel and glycerin. It's really good at dispersing the oils due to its emulsifying properties. It also acts as a preservative, so your room spray will last longer. I don't usually prefer this just because I don't much like spritzing alcohol into the air, but it's a pretty good option if you don't mind it!
